All Shower Pans Meet All City & County inspection Codes

DAM OR CURB
Dam or curb height needs to be a minimum of 2 inches above the drain.   This usually consists of 3-2x4's stacked on top one another.  Curbs may be higher, based on personal preference.

BACKING
Shower pans must have wood blocking or wood backing in between the studs around the pan base.  Backing should be at least 4” above dam height.  Usually 2x10 or 2x12 works the best.  All shower seats and benches-both face and top need to be fully sheeted or blocked and have vertical backing where the seat face meets the walls.  This backing needs to be a minimum of 3 ½”.  Where the bench meets the wall, backing must be a minimum of 6”.

DRAINS
Drains need to be a 2-piece, hot mop-style drain.  Cast iron is preferred, although an ABS or plastic hot mop-rated drain will also work.  Bottom flange of drain must be set flush or flat on sub-floor or slab.

WE PRE-SLOPE SHOWER PANS
All shower pans are pre-sloped at least ¼” per foot with mortar mix cement.

FIBERGLASS MESH
All corners, curb jambs, and seams are reinforced with fiberglass mesh.

SHOWER PANS
All shower pans are constructed of 3 layers of 15 Lb. perforated felt with hot tar in between each layer and one final flood-coat of tar.

WATER TEST
All shower pans are thoroughly water tested before leaving job site.  It is recommended that all pans be water-tested for 24 hours.
